<div class="IPBDescription">DIY phasegate +</div> I decided to have a few pre-built phasegates in my next map, so I started out making them look like the NS ones.
I got as far as this before testing (see attached), then I noticed something odd.
Complie it WC then load it up and wait for a few seconds until the particle system kicks in.
*double take*
Yes I said particle system.
Freakeh!
(Flayra please don't change this, it's cool)

Nothing special, because its part of the model.
there is another teleport particle system model, too.
I checked the model, it doesn't have a skin for the particles, so it can't be part of the model.
When I did set a PS to originate from the monster_furniture my PS appeared at the origin (0,0,0) and the monster_furniture begain to emit particles like the actual NS phasegates.
Tell me what Im supposed to be looking at so I can be correctly impressed!
I'd love to hear someone explain why the particles shiffted around like that.
Any chance of getting a .map for us third-party BSP editor users around here? <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

there you go <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
What I think is happening is that the engine is searching for entities with the model of a phasegate and automatically starting the PS over them.
pre-built BSP for all you lazy people <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

ps: would you mind if I used this for a ready room?

That's what I thought, but then what about un-built phasegates? Why don't they have the same particle system?
If you used it as a readyroom join it might be too easily blocked. Or it might be a really neat idea.
