Y Is My Game Restr. To Lan Only?

Ok.. I want my PC to run an internet game (not dedicated though).. I give my mates my IP (it's not the ethernet-card ip, it's my internet-connection ip) now they want to join my game but they only get the message: "lan-servers are restricted to local areas class ©"
BUT I DIDN'T CREATE A LAN GAME.... IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN INTERNET GAME !!! can someone help me please?? The consol says it's WON-auth. so it's not that....
PC: DSL, 1,0 Gb/Ram, 1800 Athlon, Windows XP
