It's very unbalanced, if at the start of the game two teams of 4 guys go to two hives, and 3 guys sit back and build up base, whats the alien team to do?
Any group of less than 3 aliens together gets instantly slaughted and the marines can get up phases very quickly and then they dominate.
Once you die on aliens, you sit in the respawn que for about a minute or two while you watch the other aliens die, and can't even give advice cuz you're dead.

this needs to be adressed.

Until spawn rate and resource model is fixed, games larger than 8v8 is pretty much a sure marine win if the commander knows what he is doing. The only reason marines loose such games is due to a large skill difference or an inexperienced commander.

    thats not why its imbalance
more like the slow alien respawn speed vs marines with as many IP as they need to build
and the extra resources the commander makes compared to gorges

That usually happens if the entire kharaa team rush and all end up dead, leaving a pretty much vacant hive to take.

About the respawn rate: USE REDEMPTION!

    'nuff said.

First, redemption is completely and utterly useless for skulks.

Second, the reason marines seem to win often in large games is because of a lack of early game coordination amongst the aliens. Use voice comm and gather say, 6 skulks all in one place. Preferably, a vent near the place to be attacked. Then, when the group has gathered, everyone rushes out at once, and marines die. Unless the entire marine team is there, the skulks will have a very good chance of clearing the area.
