Pop3 compatible
Its been in the works for a while now, yahoo has officially closed access to pop3 mail servers. I have been using outlook express to check my yahoo mail for the last 2 years, enjoying the luxury of not having to gork at ads for half my life. I now need to find another free mail provider. Any suggestions?

Outlook Express works well with hotmail. I'm not saying hotmail is the greatest thing alive, it has its downsides, but I've used it for practically all my life.

Positive: When downloading, it has already scanned it for viruses.

Negative: 1024kb download limit. I'm glad I have about 4 other e-mail addys with no such limits.

    Hotmail is evil.

As for free web email.. dunno. I've got the EXACT same problem you do. I may end up making my own website.

My brother swears by gmx.com, even though it is in German. As for me, I have both a dedicated one from my ISP, Blueyonder, and 5 free emails and unlimited redirects from my website. Very useful if you can afford the money.

I'm also using GMX.com, although that massive amount of German on their site really bugs me off

Serious, if someone wants to open his account there and needs someone to translate stuff to him, just PM me.

I have an ISP that offers 5 extra email accounts with no extra charge*. However I am looking for a global one because when, and I mean WHEN, I change ISPs I want to keep my email address.
