try it.
Alright, there were some people in a server, it was probably admined by some of them anyway they were planning to try something funny next round, it sounded really intresting and I joined marines too to find out what it is, and help them since I like such stuff.
There was 7 people in the marine team, and one of the three of those guys went commander. he built one IP and an armory at the base, then gave his pal a chunk of mines, while the last one was most probably scouting the hives, since they knew where the aliens started.
The map was the one with maintenance, computer core, and eclipse hives.
Well, while he mined the two doors, then the command console, orders were given to go to the maintenance hive and build... an IP (??) in that place under their hive. We blasted trough the way there, some people got trough and obviously the aliens were a bit confused, some were blowing themselves up in the mines, some were hearing building sounds near their hive, some were evolving to gorges and some were dead.
This is when i died, and noticed that we have no IPs.
The one in the base was destroyed, the mines were out and some skulks were biting the CC. then i respawned, and saw people building a CC and a third IP under the damn hive, and shooting skulks as they came out.
They almost overrid us but we were spawning fast enough and were pumped some medkits to survive. then people started climbing up and building IPs upstairs, with some people shooting like mad at the hive. i died like 7 times during this attack before the hive finally went down
really cant believe that worked, and i guess it was lucky for this tactic to have them in such a hive, but it might work on any one if you're lucky enough.
just use mines to slow down the alien rush, make EVERYONE go, have them a lot of ammo for the big break trough to the hive from the base, move that CC to the offense base if its going down, do NO tfs or anything, anything else is your **obscenity**.
and recycle the IP in your base once you have the offense ones going up safely, also recycle the armory in your base after people get their first load of ammo and even your CC if you have one being built. (if you can im not sure)
chances are you run out of RP if the node in your base gets killed, just better hope it wont.
chances are also you run into people like: "ffs what is the comm doing wtf eject him now or we lose!!!1" they were getting people to do it pretty good, one commander eject vote was made but we were 4 people of 7 that wanted to try it and that got other people just to join in.
chances are you run into somewhat non-noob aliens or just ones with brains and lose.
wether it works or not, you'll get a good laugh if all the marines go for it.
i think thats how it was done. any ways to improve this one??

My big problem with base re-location as a stratagy is that you lose the ability to distress beacon. It would be just as easy to hold the first base with two people (easily done on eclipse with its two doors) and then go Ip-Ip-Obs-gate and get a gate up in the first hive you take instantly.
