<div class="IPBDescription">What speed is needed for a 10-16 player?</div> Just wondering how much bandwith is needed if you have unlimited hardware?

This is for a 10-16 person server with just adminmod.

my 20 person cs server at peak takes around 600kbps sustained....i'd imagine NS would take a little bit more than that

16 players maxes out around 60k/sec (30 up and 30 down) which is about 480kbps...

Unless you're running this on a home dsl or cable modem, most business class broad band connections should handle the network traffic ok, especially with just 10 or 12 ppl on it. what's more important is the hardware you're running on

16 players on a linux dedicated server tags the amd 1700xp cpu at 70% cpu usage, spiking into the high 80s and low 90s on the longer and larger maps

i've heard windows runs a lot smoother with the current release, maybe by as much as half the processor usage

    good luck

Yep! i'm currently hosting a game server instead of playing myself, must take a break.

    ADSL 512/512 (around 52 Kb-53 Kb up & down) (428 / 448 after the tcp/ip overhead + error control). I host 12 Players, i could squeeze 14 players but i rather keep pings good.
