Doors always open so slow!
Hey I can never get the momentary_doors + trigger_prescence doors to open fast enough. I've tried using the mapping guidelines etc but it still don't work. Can anyone lend a hand?
I'm very new to mapping so forgive me if this is a stupid noobie answer, but don't you just set the speed in the door entity? This works for me, but I haven't used a trigger_presence yet so it may be different. I've only used button triggers so far.
the sense of a momentary door is to be kind of slow. I did a momentary door with speed 1000 (instead of 100) and it just looks unrealistic.
For what the hell do you need such a fast momentary door?
go to http://www.valve-erc.com/entities/?entity=...=momentary_door and download the momentary1.zip speed change worked for me there. maybe your bug is that the speed of the momentary door is NOT the doors speed. The doors speed is set by the speed value of the momentary_button that controlls it.
The door opens at about 50 speed although I put it on 100. I used the ns tech 2 rmf to help me, that didnt work. Like in eclipse for example the dorr slides almsot instantly infront of your face.
Momentary_doors do JUST work with a momentary_rot_button and with nothing else. the sense of a m-door is that you open and close it with a rotating button (like a medieval wooden bridge) and not by presence or push-butons.
That is where you use the momentary_door where a button triggers it. I am jsut walking through the trigger_prescence field. But the speed still don't change.
"Momentary_doors do JUST work with a momentary_rot_button and with nothing else. The momentary_doors speed is set by the speed value of the momentary_rot_button that controlls it (and not by the speed of the momentary door itself)."
You can controll the same momentary_door with 2 different momentary_rot_buttons that have different speeds -> the door opens and closes in different speeds, depending on used button. But this is buggy, and maybe the door can stay closed or opened....

dimensions of the door = 128x128
