the 3 doesn't display your ping history and it's faster. You can use net_graphpos too to change the location of the netgraph on your screen.

Alternatively, if you want something that'll let you see FPS in all games plus let you take screenshots, download FRAPS from <a href='http://www.fraps.com/' target='_blank'>here</a>.

If you only whant your FPS you can type cl_showfps 1 in console
Display it upper left corner.

Don't download FRAPS if you have a TNT2. It will only make you depressed.
