<i>For the loner... </i>
1. Become skulk. Get the Carapace upgrade if possible.
2. Find a heavily guarded hive, almost inpenetrable with turrets, but worth taking for a strategic advantage.
3. Locate Resource Tower, usually not defended on all sides like Turret Factory.
4. Avoiding turrets by climbing on walls or ceiling, or quick dash, make for safety of resource tower.
5. Bite Resource Tower until down to the last red bar, but not destroying it.
6. Evolve into a Gorge.
7. Build a few Offence Chambers, and Defence chambers if possible behind the Resource Tower for protection.
8. Use your Gorge spit to finish of the Marine Resource Tower, so the fully grown Offence chambers can begin attacking the nearby turrets and structures. Use Heal to repair any damage.
9. If resource points are coming in slow, then build a Resource Chamber over the now empty nozzle.
10. Proceed to build OCs and DCs, towards the Turret Factory(s), call in the troops.
11. When turret factory is down, begin thinking about building the new hive.
<i>NOTE: You don't have to use the Marine Resource Structure to do this, it can be any Marine structure which has a blind spot to turrets.</i>

Since travelling through phase gates goes in a line, often times marines will just warp in randomly as they're moving from place to place. This often stops any one-man siege efforts in their tracks...
It's rare for Hive Locations not to have phase gates... and as soon as the humans know you're setting up turrets in the vicinity, here comes the siege cannons... good-bye offense towers!
Phase gate has too many hit points if you ask me... as well as too fast a warp time... there should be a limit of like 3-5 seconds for each person to warp in... and the phase gate should use a destination menu of marines just warping between a chain of points.
