[mrel]grenade Launcher Replacement

This is a conversion of the model from counterstrikecenter which is in turn a model based on the assault rifle from unreal 2. It replaces the grenade launcher, has standard and heavy armor hands, and a custom sound that i *think* may be from AvP (the old one) but i dont know. Either way, you can download and use it, it looks awesome ingame (to me anyway). Pic below.

    i made it my mg replacement instead, i like it better for that

    sadly, the muzzleflash was WAY behind teh barrel, so at the expense of looking better, i had to replace my muzzleflash sprites with blank ones

    hopefully, when duo releases his version, teh muzzleflash origins will be correct, so i can put the muzzleflash sprites back

    I'm still waiting for duo's. I like that whole "Huge Friggin' Gun" feel. And on that note, I think someone should make big bulky feeling shot-gun. Not the little pea-shooter that is in there by default, I want something that I could shove up an onos's butt and blow a hole out the other end with, yall know what I mean?

    you can try to rename the model to v_hmg (or something)
    It should work, I currently have it as my lmg, it looks dashing!

    Wouldnt the reload anims look weird or something? Although it would be a great replacement.

    -edit- Also, what would i change the w and p models to? mg? so W_mg, P_mg and v_mg?

    Maybe i can restructure the animations tomorrow, im tired tonight.

    I made it for the grenade gun because theres no replacements for it, and because the animations line up perfectly.

    Sorry for the wait, been busy the last few days, but tomorrow i should be done with it. As for the turrets, I downloaded those skins off custom TFC. The skins were recoloured to take team colors and replace the sentry guns. I just think they look cool. You can see them easily anyway, silly boy.

    I've noticed this once or twice on different models and now on this gun so I have to ask, <b>WHY</b> are the textures resized to 252*249? First off it screws up the texture scaling when it's not a power of 2 and it also means I can't use the Daemon Elite skinpack on the new models. I'd like to use the model but I don't know exactly how the texture was changed so I can't get it to look decent without remapping it entirely. So what's up with that?

    I had that problem with a model one time. The actual texture on the original model was larger than what it was after recompiling. I don't get it either. I don't think it's something in the QC file, because I didn't edit it. I couldn't fix it. I just had to keep recompiling just to change the texture files, rather than doing it with HLMV, because HLMV kept saying the editted textures I kept trying to put in with its importer were larger than the original. Probably just an inexplicable random glitch generated by the billions and billions of goofy variables in a Windows environment. Tried rebooting and starting from scratch? You never know.

    The files in the ZIP are p_gg.mdl, v_gg.mdl and w_gg.mdl, right? What files are the default LMG in? There are no v_lmg.mdl's, so what else can it be? Go <a href='http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/hlmv/index.html' target='_blank'>here</a> to get the Half-Life Model Viewer program to look at what the models look like and find which ones the LMG are.

    With the knowledge gained from that experience, you'll be able to take even larger steps, like using the Model Viewer to change skins and such. Enjoy.

    and gg_hv.mdl, i think thats for the model when you have heavy armor. Ill just keep the original cuz i dont want to overwrite them and found out a i made a big mistake. Thanks wolf.

    You're welcome.

    It's always a good idea to make a backup of your entire mod folder before customizing, in case you make any mistakes you might regret.

    Or make sure you've got the most recent installer for the mod, so you can reinstall it somewhere and copy over anything you don't want anymore, then uninstall thte fake one, if you want.

    Well, thank Nielsz0r for bringing it to my attention and Katsuro for converting it.

    I'd also like to encourage everyone to keep their eyes open for stuff they like in -any- 3D game, custom or standard, that they think would be cool in NS. I'm pretty sure there's a way to convert just about anything. I'm on CounterStrikeCenter.com quite a bit, but I don't see -everything-, so keep your eyes peeled and keep making requests for stuff like this.
