An Unpleasant Trend I've Noticed...

Aliens are more humane than marines.
I'll start with the example of a game I played last night on bast. I always go random as the timer begins to keep teams even. I always go alien. For the last two games I had been going gorg rt crazy. I couldn't do it this time though because I had to leave for the first few seconds to fix my sound. I think we started at sewer but I don't fully remember. Marines build a phase at gen and nothing else. I eat it. We start building in vent, they push in and take it. Full blown turret farm this time. Thing are favoring them pretty well at this time. HA's, jet's, and HMG's start wandering out of their base. We build at gen. A jetpacker sits in the rafters and blows it away with a HMG before any of the nearby skulks realize they can get up there (I spawn, go up around and behind, and get him literally a second too late) Now things get bizzare. Marines start setting up a siege base in sewer vestibule, with decked out HA/HMG. While this is happening, they don't go back to check gen or vent, and we rebuild in both. They secure sewer, and then go build a siege base near gen. It takes out gen just in time to keep it from finishing. Now they march on vent. I go back to the siege base in gen... yep theres the turrets... and the siege... now wheres the tf? It was around a corner. So I eat it unopposed, and go rebuild the hive, AGAIN. Finally after they finish off vent. They all march over very slowly and kill it. Finally the game ends. It took another hour after they had HA/HMG/jet.
Now another situation. The game before that; same map. Aliens quickly get all the rt's save one or two, and another hive, and the skulks keep them from securing even one hive. Fades and umbra lerks siege their base and take them out. Total time between second hive completion and victory was about 15 minutes.
These two scenarios are what I see much of the time the game isn't won by a rush. Either the aliens win the tech race and decimate the marines quickly, or the marines get two hives or tech first, and take another hour to finally win. Somehow, once marine teams assure victory, they suddenly become incompetant and slow.
It's most obvious when I command. Theres an attitude that most marines have, pretty much a "turrets go everywhere." I drop an rt on the way to a hive, some marine there will say "drop a tf" i will say "no we are moving on to the hive" and he will keep sitting there. Sometimes i've ordered people to a hive, and instead of taking the phase they walk there. If any marine sees ANY alien structure he has an immediate and irresistable urge to go knife it. Oh nevermind me yelling "NO DON'T ATTACK THAT THEY'LL KNOW YOU ARE THERE." This is especially true when we are moving towards the last hive, and they spot an rt or something: "don't bother with that let's take out the hive asap" *4 ha/hmg go knife an alien rt* "IGNORE THAT WE ARE TAKING THE HIVE" *one backs off while the rest continute knifing, they kill it* "free node here com" "we have 300 in the bank we don't need it" "open resource here" *they spam their menu requests, and don't move out till I finally drop a node*
Although alot of that last paragraph was whining about how marines don't follow orders, my main point is that once the game is decided for either side, the aliens will finish it quickly (unless you get a pocket of lamers who leave one or two ip's) or the marines will take forever to do it, thus putting the alien team through the agony of fighting HA/HMG gor an hour, forcing them all to leave, and eventually emptying the server. So next time you are in a game, and you know you are going to win, just get it over with already.
And yes i know we could have all F4'd out but we kept getting these opprotunity's to rebuild from their incompetance and decided not to, and this refers to play on public servers only, even if I would like to, I don't play in organized games.

I've seen alien sieges on the marine base lasting almost an hour. The marines retain all their upgrades and can take quite some time to kill, especially on ns_bast where the marine base is in a rather unaccessable location (airlock/elevator).
Marines against 1 hive aliens? A joke! Unless the marines are completely incompentant, they will slaughter the 1-upgrade skulks mercilessly and quickly.
Nothing is impossible.
I've won a few games where we lost 2 hives and still won (as alien mind you). The only one I can remember the details of was a game on ns_hera. A skulk snuck into the marine base and went into the really small room with the CC. He went gorge and built up his resources. Then he spammed O and D chambers in the small room, but leaving enough room for 1 or 2 skulks. He told us what he was doing, so I grabbed a clan mate and made our way into marine base. Luckly, marines were busy setting up a forward base at our last hive so none of them were near their base. So us 2 skulks rushed into marine base climbed up the wall and into the small CC room with several O and D chambers and the gorge that is now a skulk chewing on the CC. Soon we took the CC out and the Comm. We waited in our little room for marine backups to come in. Most of them fired at the thin door protecting us. We waited for them to run out of bullets (or stop shooting) and either we or they opened the door, not knowing that skulks were in there. Us 3 "leaped" (since we only had 1 hive) out and killed those marines, then finished off the TF that I was working on eariler, then we got their 3 IPs, and finally their last HA/HMG marine.
Luck and a n00b comm were on our side.
