<div class="IPBDescription">Saves the day!</div> I knew getting that Observatory up right after the IP would come in handy someday - I just never knew *how* handy.
I was commanding last night on ns_caged, and we got rushed *hard.* I have never seen such a well-executed rush; those aliens did really, really well.
So they took out the IP and made their way up the the CC, and I'm sitting there thinking, "Well, my team did what I told them to, two built, the rest covered. They're just really good!"
Then I click on the Observatory, tucked away, untouched, in a corner - and I throw down a distress beacon right as the CC went into the red.
This was *immediately* followed by a WTF?!?! from everyone - marines and aliens - on the server, and it gave us a chance to come back
We ultimately lost (mainly because I failed to follow my own damn ns_caged guide), and because after we secured the sewer Hive, I told my troops to regroup at the main base for heavy weapons, and after I gave them a waypoint to the generator Hive, they didn't move out as a group. This really surprised me because they were a good team, and when they were advancing to the first Hive, they were all covering each other *really* well.
I think that if I had remembered the beacon about 30 seconds earlier, we would've been able to pull off a win.
Oh well, it was still a fun game. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Are you playing again frequently now, or was that just a one-time deal? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well, I'm on winter break from school, so I've been playing a bit recently. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I just got really busy with school and all, so I decided if there was one thing I could cut back on, it was NS. Plus, the connection in my apartment sucks. It's not bad back at home though!
I'm going to the CPL later this week, so I plan to get in as much NS as I possibly can. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Ah so it goes...a commander can't FORCE his marines to do stuff...always a pain.
Ah distress beacons....the convient way to have a good few second laugh. Nothing like bringing the whole team down in a couple seconds to destory all before them...usually end game which is...really sad but...early game...haven't done that yet.,
Hah, I was thinking the same thing earlier. "Where the hell did that Mindmeld guy run off to?" <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
