Ns Balancing

I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong...
I've got a bit of a dilemma. I understand I'll probably get flamed for this, because after all this is a 'Suggestions and Ideas' forum, but after playing for about 2 weeks now as both sides, I don't think the gameplay needs to be balanced any more.

Ok, maybe a couple of bugs need to be ironed out (namely the notorious 'being stuck in things' bug), but I think that any complaints about the gameplay I've seen so far have been a bit biased. Maybe I haven't played the game enough to notice what is actually wrong, but everything seems to work together so well. For example, Siege Cannons may be very good (admittedly the range issues should be fixed), but the alien side probably deserves to be blown up if they have actually allowed the marines to get close to their hive, build and upgrade a TF and then build a Siege. And while their doing this, there's always the chance that they have left the rest of the map weak and undefended.

There are other issues (or non-issues?) like this that I can't think of right now, but I'll mention them when I read a post about them. I can see why people have a problem with all these different things and yes, I rip my hair out when I step in a web, but it's my fault in the end, and it's a gorge's only really defence.

Anyway back to my dilemma. If there are no real changes that need to be made, where is NS going to be taken? More maps? I'd love to see more weapons and alien species, but this could completely change the game, which I would hate to happen. So, where is NS going to go when all the bugs are gone?

There are still plenty of features they never got to finish implementing before NS was released

We'll be seeing them in future client-side patches

The master plan - as far as a meek playtester like me was filled in on it - was to get a halfway balanced Aliens vs. Humans game out with v1, which apparently worked relatively well. I'm not saying NS is 100% balanced, but seeing that Flayra was trying something nobody ever attempted before, it all went quite nicely.

The next versions won't so much concentrate on 'enhacing' AvM (although this will doubtlessly happen to some extent, too), but to introduce both MvM and AvA. Of course, you'll see more conventional maps and all, but Flayra isn't going to limit himself to fiddling with a game that's essentially done.

    I'm moving this to General.

Nemesis Zero, thanks for pointing that out . I'd somehow forgotten about MvM and AvA scenarios.

If it turns out as good as v1 has turned out, then it will be amazing. Can anyone remember any first release of any mod at all that was as refined and great in every way as NS?

Would be fun AvA scenarios. just wondering; Will there be 5 hives? See aliens would possibly get 2 hives each, and the one that has the 3rd is screwed. And about the lerk gas, it destroys all organics, and as the Kharaa are all organic, chambers and all, lerks would be too powerful.

Both gamemodes will of course have to be balanced, but then, what doesn't?
