Invincible Cc

This is kinda a strategy/bug report but o well. anyways, on the map eclipse, i think (one with cockpit) you can drop an invincible CC on top of the cockpit and actualy build it if you want to annoy the aliens ALOT. The second and less known one is the one on ns_Hera. You do this by building a CC on the other side of the cargo bay door in the marine start (the door leading to the helipad) and pressing the use button next to where the CC should be like there is no wall/door.

Theres also another one on the map that began with a T and had a lazer wall leading to a sattelite uplink. Anyways, I havent tried this 1 but ithink you do the same thing with the hera version and you got an instant invincible CC.     It's ns_nancy. Marines who are being **obscenity** build CCs and infantry portals outside the map on the nose of the spaceship, just to pointlessly prolong the game after they have lost and every single other structurte anywhere on the map has been eaten. Aliens generally panic for a while and marines laugh at them, then someone points out that healing, spore cloud, and most importantly Bile Bomb all have area damage that goes through walls, and so then the aliens finish them off. It's annoying, though, and needlessly prolongs a lost cause.

    Remember, mappers! Fill the "outdoors" sections of your map with func_nobuilds to prevent such twinkery!

    Yeah, this bug has been brought up. Hopefully it'll be fixed in an upcoming patch.

    Listings of ones I know:
    Nancy-CC+portals buildable outside.
    Tanith-CC but no portals (They fall through the level)
    Hera-I have not tried it yet.
    Caged-There is a small fan vent where you can build a CC but no portals by the sewer hive. Although if you do get the CC in, you can finish the portal before it sinks below the map, and marines spawn below the map. (server has to be reset/people have to leave the team to allieviate the issue) It is pretty crazy down there though.

    Now that were on the topic, that bile and spore cload thru wall thing is a bug too. I mean, I really cant see how gas and acid can go thru walls without damaging or going thru it first, It would defy the laws of physics (though this really isnt the place to descuss phyics seeing as this is a Sci fi mod <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    Wouldn't the acidrocket just hit the wall and splash not go through it? Same for bilebomb

    The splash damage from Bile Bomb is VERY large, so it's able to go through walls.
    Also, on ns_nancy, if you shoot Spores on the wall blockign the view of the CC, you can kill any marines on the other side, since the Spores is an area effect, going through walls.

    funny, I never knew the aliens had a seige turret of their own, seing as how they also have the onos. I would suggest we take both the invincible CC and those ****ing cursed bile/spore cloud bugs out seing how as marines cant do the same thing. (unless they can <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    Bilebomb does not hurt through walls. That is, unless some part of the building is sticking out. However, the aliens can shoot through thin walls. There is ONE place that I have found to be 100% alien-proof. The one problem is that spawn portals are impossible to build from outside, and you fall out of the area if you get out of the CC. I am referencing the one in caged next to the sewer hive. Tanith would seem to work, but does not, due to the fact that the steel beams going out to the satelite relay thingy makes IPs, but not CCs sink underground.

    The only way you can stop this would be to have each indivbidual mapper make a no make marine structure zone on each individual map, which would be a pain in the **obscenity** for them. That way, or the way of the bile bomb/spore cloud way, which in its self is still cheating. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> hope u fix that bug along with the invincible CC bug.

    Then explain to me why they do not hurt structures which are not poking out of the wall. I have experienced this many times more than the average person, and have studied the areas themselves. Explosions do not hurt marine structures, but the shots that go through the walls do.
