<div class="IPBDescription">im a bit confused...</div> For customizing NS, there are restrictions right? Im a little confused, why are differeint types of customization NOT considered cheating in other mods? Like DOD, it seems to be ok to change some stuff, while in NS, that type of changing is considered cheating..? Does this have to do with differeint gameplay?

the main things whose editing is frowned upon are the alien bite models, because it covers your screen for a fraction of a second. so if you dont have that hinderance, and everyone else does, youve got an advantage, ie exploit. other editing is generally fine tho.

Jerry, a lot of it has to do with the community. For example, in the DoD community, ironsight weapons are loved by many. In the CS community, many cry "0MG! H4X! CH34T!" when they see ironsighted guns. Mind you, a lot of DoD players are somewhat older guys who have a distinct interest in WW2. Many have actual military training. DoD players have been, for a long time, somewhat sedate compared to what many refer to as the stereotypical "CS'er," which has enabled a great deal of more understanding players to flourish. I don't hang out around the CS community much, but if the commentaries left for models on CounterStrikeCenter.com are any indication, I can see where the horrible stereotype comes from.

Anyway, that's not to say there aren't very decent people in the CS community too. If there weren't, where would all those incredible models come from? I'm not here to bash anyone, I'm just saying what I've seen, which isn't much.

def_one, I'm working on some AvP2 model conversions, as you may have noticed me saying in other posts. I'm hoping to use the AvP2 AL|EN V_models, with proper NS biting animations [I'm a stickler for making such things work], but I don't think they cover exactly as much of the screen as the default NS ones [I'm not sure, because I don't have my hands on them yet]. Of course, I'll get burned or not by public opinion when I release them [if ever], but I wanted to verify if such a thing would be alright according to the dev team's sensibilities before I got too deep in to this. I'm not out to make enemies of the guys who're making a game I like to play.

You would be using the chestburster's teeth v_model. I think there are two little slits on either side that dont get covered. Very small slits though.

I see nothing wrong in customizing yer NS

But if you customize it so that the randomn sounds that a fade makes, to a sound that goes "A FADE IS NEAR!"

    or a lerk

cuz you know how the aliens make randomn sounds...
lol thats just cheating and IS VERY LAME

    lol

Even though it would be cheating, I think it would be funny to make the Onos' walk sound something like "OMG! ONOS! RUN!!!"

I can hear what kind of alien is approaching by their sound anyway.
    No need to 'h4x0r'

Only the Chestburster has V-model teeth? Not the Predalien, or anything?
