Its very complicated. Reskinning is pretty easy though. Use Half-Life Model Viewer then go to texture. Export the texture, edit it, then import it into the model and save the model.

err...i can't say i know anything about modeling. I DO know however that there are many tutorials for modeling, i also know that you need programs such as milkshape and various other 3d modeling programs.(milkshape is the only one i can think of at the top of my head). I suggest going to google and typing in "3d modeling tutorials"

We were all newbies once, Dev. . Skinning is a **obscenity** when you first start out. I gave up on skinning for like 3 months, but then I thought why the fark shouldn't I try again? So I started out with very simple thigns like skinning W_models. Like barrels, Ammo Boxes and such. Then when you get the hang of PhotoShop (the program which most people use to skin/reskin), you move onto harder things. And once you practice it for long enough, you turn out a good skinner in the end. If you want to skin, acquire photoshop somehow. Then screw around with it and try some stuff. Try to create rust textures, wood textures, metal textures and so on. You will eventually get the hang of it. I did pretty quickly, and I'm not even that great still...

True...
I'll write a tutorial on how to make skins for half-life soon.

And yes, it is supposed to have better grammar than the above sentence.
