I was kind of expecting something to happen because I was still in early exploring mode and jumping at the least little strange sound. I didn't even realize I had to go into the Aurora at this point.
My genuine reaction though was emotional. I was genuinely stunned and had to look up at the falling burning wreck 3 times. Now that IS Fantastic story telling without words and Brilliant emotional capturing Development writing.
I was genuinely stunned!
The editing team got this game bang on and the music... Wow! The gun turning and retracting back into repose is absolutely sublime. Does it show? "I love this game, it's incredible. Everything, the music, the sound effects, the beautiful graphics... Unknown World's Development Team are God's!"
'Subnautica' IS the BEST survival game I have EVER played and it's why I cannot stop recommending it to my friends ect.
I will be covering 'Subnautica' in my first Pilot YouTube channel episode soon because I have to share my genuine thoughts of this incredible survival game. The reason why I give 'Subnautica' 9.5/10 easily every time I leave a comment on other YouTube content creators channels.
It is rarer than rocking horse poop that a game comes a long as awesome as 'Subnautica' with an annoying sudden pop up glitch in the mix and yet the game is still 95% perfection brilliance in my opinion.
T-30 seconds: I wonder why the alien building is making a noise. And why it's getting taller. And bending over and pivoting and....I realise it's the planetary defence battery. And soon, the Sunbeam will be as fried as my radio transmitter.
I stay still and watch them approach. I feel sick to my stomach as the laser fired, and poor Avery Quinn and crew were vapourised by the automated defence systems. Such a useless waste!
I would not let them die in vain. I ran back to my Seamoth to try and find and save the survivors. I kept going as fast as I could to try and find the new debris; I got warned they were in an 'ecological dead zone' but that only made me more determined. If I did not find them, they would not survive!
It was only after I was eaten by the Super Ghost Leviathans for the 5th time that I realised I'd have to consult a walkthrough. And then I learned that Subnatica is fine with letting you leave the playable area, provided you accept the....escort.
THAT'S how quickly and effectively Subnautica got me emotionally invested.
Thanks for the update! Tried it just now and no longer have the same bug! It does take several minutes to save but if that is all it should be fine! Have a great weekend I know what I will be doing in the coming days! thanks!
when the gun was charging up I was like "NO, DO NOT FREAKING KILL THEM!!!!!!" and when it was aiming at them I just said "omg, you freaking morons you said the debris field was big, so could you have suggested the aurora or I don't the AURORA GOT SHOT DOWN????????" and when the sunbeam exploded I said to myself "well I'm screwed."

This - with the emphasis so strongly on wreck exploration it did jar a smidge that we didn't get any wreckage from it.
