Lifepod slows my game down by around 25 fps

About sums it up, but I will also say that I've gone out of my way to get to the Lost River section under the Degasi island and it still lags if I look towards home even from that far away.
Also, it seems that a certain part of the lifepod makes the game slow down, the console area with the big display and the solar cells seems to be closest to the point that causes the performance drop
