Can't start the game: Error loading SNUnmanaged data expansion

I choose New Game / Survival and then I'm stuck in the loading screen with this error message: Error loading SNUnmanaged data expansion.
My logs are filled with:
ArgumentNullException: Argument cannot be null.
Parameter name: path1
Error: Temporary save path not set
I tried most solutions offered on forums, including checkdisk, install/reinstall, disabling antivirus, deleting save files and other files outside the steam directory... etc. Nothing works.
