SUBNAUTICA SUB ZERO Game does not save display res properly

Game will not properly save&retain my fullscreen display res of choice ingame : 1440 p
Upon load it will first show 1440p as exspected , reentering the options menu then shows 4k res
How di i know its not just an UI bug&cosmetic only? Because my framerate gets cut in half when it happens
Change it again to 1440p works until next game restart
Windows runs at 4k so not the same as game res for obvious performance reasons i had to resort to 1440p ingame
