I have noticed that my xbox loads this game and plays it very well compared to my son and daughters.
I play on the xbox one X with all games loaded on external SSD. This is possible and allowed with proper formatting. Instructions on microsoft website.
My son plays on an xbox one s. Files on xbox internal hard drive.
My daughter plays on the Day One edition.
So far, here are the load times after a hard reset and waiting 5 minutes at the home screen for all xbox core files to load. The load time included starting the game and loading a survival game I started and saved after putting out the initial lifepod fire.
Xbox one X w/ssd - 45 seconds (did not test without ssd. Not messing with it)
Xbox one S - 2 min 20 seconds (1 min 50 seconds with ssd plugged into it)
Xbox one day one edition - 2 min 35 seconds (did not test ssd)
The xbox internal hard drive is a bottle neck in the consoles ability to load files quickly.
