I'd prefer any and every map make to create a good solid storyline map over, a "Madness map".
Why does anybody even care if cs maps are converted to NS? NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO PLAY THEM. They will never make it officially into ns, and the only time they will ever really bother you is when to glance at them in the server browser. Same with outdoor maps, if you don't like them, don't play them.
Anyways, back to the original topic, I find it far easier to map when I have a certain set of limited design restrictions and guidelines. I don't know why, but I quickly lose interest in a map if I'm allowed to to do anything I like. I have many, many maps of my hard drive that I just abandoned because what I thought would be a cool idea turned out not to be a cool idea. No guidelines leaves my creativity 'thin, sort of stretched like butter scraped over too much bread.' (Sorry, but the quote works here). Whereas with an NS map, I can take my creativity and cram it into a little spaceship sized hole, and fill the thing up.
I'm definitely the kind of mapper who benefits from a certain level of restriction.
i.e Do You as a map maker find it.. lets say "more fun" to stray from the story line and make strange random weird map that are fun to play (i.e speedball and rats for Cs, do they make any sense or fit into the "realistic" type of gameplay? no.)

actually I hope NS_dust, ns_killbox, ns_rats and other similar maps never see the light of day (Highly unlikely but hey, I can hope). And if someone does actually decide to make one of these maps, please keep it on only your harddrive, or better yet delete it. I think NS deserves to be spared the horror of ns_iceworld

What I'd like to see is a 2fort idea for NS, 2 sides, either a really detailed map, or a very simple map.
Each base would have, say 12 nodes,(and if you were alien you'd have 12 node and all 3 hives in one area). and it'd a massive blood bath of Onos and Has and turrets! lol I mean sure it doesn't fit in the story line but it's be cool to play.
If i ever so much as see an ns_killbox or ns_iceworld i'd scream. Things like Fy and rats may be great for a laugh but they are not the point of the game, damn if you want a crazy stupid arse kill box go map for tfc. CS was about having some of realistic action teamplay mod.
ns is about dark gloomy brilliant architectural things like space stations. If you thik a space station can get old then you really have no imagination. Space stations can have whatever the hell they want on them because they are in a way mini cities and who the hell would want to be a skulk on an open map you'd be mauled!
It will not happen because flayra will not let it happen, NS is dark and gloomy and it better stay that way cause i like it.
No fair bashing on de_dust. It was a perfectly legitimate, well-designed map, that happened to get turned into the Hunters equivalent for counter-strike. I don't see why everyone would hate it just because it's the most commonly played map. That's discrimination.

Whats with people and de_dust any way? It's one hell of a well thought map.
As for ns_iceworlds: Don't play them. You cannot stop a noobeh making it, so simply don't play it.

nice and open for interpertation
There's a zillion threads about it. Go find them and keep yourself amused there. No need for a new thread here, buddy.

give it a few months and when they get bored the "fun" maps will start coming out.
