The Marine Rush...

<div class="IPBDescription">...For ns_eclipse</div> :: Starting ::

This is my strategy when I go the commadner on eclipse. I start off by building 2 infantry portals. When they are built I get an armoury and an obserbatory up. By now I should have about 20 or so resoruces left that are spent on a phase gate at spawn. I now scan for ther hive and alert my marines.

:: The Hive ::

I gather ALL my marines at spawn and give them orders. All of them except for 2 get sent to the node nearest the hive. While they are going, the 2 marines at spawn stay on watch. As my marines aproach the Waypoint and have had a few casualties I place a phase gate at the node, a Resource Tower, and a Turret Factory. We now start sieging the hive (if in range), and rush at the same time.

:: Conclusion ::

This is my so far flawless strategy for ns_eclipse. It may not sound like much, but my record with it is
3:0 (wins:losses). Unless the aliens I were playing are newbs then this strategy is great.

    Any alien team that lets the marines seige their spawn hive are probably made up of mostly noobs. I've only seen marine rushing work as a marine, any time they have tried it when I was an alien, they all get eaten before the first turret goes up.

    While rushing the marine spawn is first priority at the start for aliens, after the rush is over, your job is to keep the marines from progressing outward. Hide on a ceiling or a dark corner. When they come by, try and take one or two out, or parasite the whole group. When the marines have to deal with a skulk dropping down or jumping out at them every other corridor, they don't get very far.
