They can often be seen pushing warpers around the world. It's really funny, actually.

And they're underwater, so why would they crawl on the ground?

The only creatures that can walk above water are the cavecrawler blood crawler and crabsquid (as stated by the PDA).. though I'm not sure if crabsquid can survive above water

Doubtful. The design of its head looks like it'd be unable to survive without the buoyancy-neutral environment of water. Pull that thing out of the water and it'd probably deflate like an octopus. Which, in the case of the benevolent and peaceful octopus is depressing - in the case of the evil and ever-griefing crabsquid, it'd be karma.
