Compass scale ticks

I was going to try to map subnautica with paper and pencil and a goniometer, but looking at the compass I noticed that the ticks between the cardinal points are not standard: the total ticks for a 45 degrees angle are 6, so for a 90 degrees 12 for a total of 48 ticks for a 360.
My suggestion is to bring it to the standard compass measurement, with big ticks every 10 degrees and small ticks every 5 degrees.
This thing will allow easy plot on paper with bearing and distance from known points, like beacons or the starting raft, without needing to use coordinates which are a little bit like cheating
