Hi there Unknown Worlds Team! I have not logged onto these forums in almost 2 years (just checked my profile and last posts). I purposely retired because I decided I had 'tested' the early access long enough and didn't want to spoil the story and you guys were really putting out a lot of content updates after that time.
I came back to say I just completed the whole thing from start to finish and I'm just absolutely blown away! Took me about 65 hours of going at a leisurely pace, and building two different bases (one shallow at 75m and the second as a forward base of ops down at the 900m mark). I'm so glad I waited and didn't give in to temptation to play again before the final chapter was completed - it was worth the wait.
Here's the post I just put up on the Subnautica Subreddit with all the reasons I'm so happy with the game and the story:

First of all, dear 'Unknown Worlds' you have rocked my world - this game is AMAZING. Thank you so much for all your hard work. The years of waiting was so worth it.
I joined the early access back around 2015 and played it like a creative exploration-builder for a long time but then put it away when I realized they were developing an actual story and ending. I didn't want to spoil it. It was hard to resist when new updates would come out and I'd take a peek at the new content, but I would quickly stop reading and avoid it again. I wanted to play through the whole thing front to back and enjoy it without having played up to the most recent content release. I'm so glad I did too, it was a wonderful story. I am feeling satisfied, yet sad, happy and wistful all at once and that's how a story should move you and make you want more even when it's done. THANK YOU!
Secondly, I'd like to say how much I appreciate the game's really well thought out interface and crafting system. I've never been a fan of complicated crafting games though I love to build and explore and make things - it just needs to make sense and not feel like I'm grinding hours away for massive amounts of resources. This game has a perfect balance. Just when I thought I had everything I needed, another new blueprint or process would open up and I'd be motivated to go back down again. I love the way the story leads you onward and keeps coaxing you deeper! I swore I wasn't going to go into the darkest depths but over time I found the courage (and equipment) to keep going further than I thought I would. THAT is great gameplay!
Highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a good solid game that offers beautiful scenery, exploration, exotic creatures, terrifying moments, crafting, building, and most of all a beautiful story that makes you feel something for the world and its inhabitants.
I look forward to seeing what Unknown Worlds creates in the future because they are a brilliant game developer team and I love their style and talent. Keep up the great work and again, congratulations on all the years of hard work - you created a masterpiece!
