Well me for one use a bunch of underwater lockers and later i when i have build a base i store the resources in the base but the underwater lockers are stowed in a big locker the glass locker. would it not be cool if the fabricator had a recycle function were u could recycle your old equipment like scanners if u accidentally build a second or a third one or even upgrades like scanner room range upgrades and recycle them back into the materials they where built from or then have a penalty of about 25 or 50% resources less because it had to be recycles back into resources for e.g. the underwater lockers that u get all, three or two of it the 4 titanium used back. and it could be done by a another internal installation or just internal module like the fabricator is a internal module. instead of using the actual fabricator
P.S I know it's a bit late now for that but maybe it could be a update or probably a DLC after v1.0 because i think it to late for development or maybe not.

i made like 3 scanners because of who knows why and removed my full battery and dropped it into a volcanic vent
so for me it would definatly save me some wasted resources
So, a dedicated "Recycle" button/branch in Fabricator menu that lists all equipment/vehicle upgrades held in your inventory ready to be disassembled to its basic parts?
Though that opens up an energy loophole for disassembling empty batteries and re-assembling materials into full charged battery, or tools with the batteries taken out only to be re-assembled with a full-charged battery again.
they could remove batteries and power cells from the recycle options and the batteries from equipment is either returned in it current charge or it will give a message saying please remove the batteries and of course when it's recycled it will leave out the battery from the equation
Yes i have noticed it as well but in my last post i said the devs could just leave out batteries of any sort and any equipment that has a battery will just give a pop up saying please remove the battery does not matter if it's a ion battery or a normal battery and it then recycles the tool or what ever and if a battery was required for the creation of one it would simply not give back a battery of any charge because u had to remove the battery before doing anything with the recycling.
