Yes often when I'm commanding I'll see 4-5 Marines who were building my expansion base wiped out by a couple of Skulks. They then blame me for bad Commandering. I also will NEVER command on the map where only 1 Kharaa hive has a Res that can be defended by the same TF because taking a hive early (and profiting from it) is integral to my strategy.

Pretty much. Our commander bailed about 5 minutes into a game on ns_caged, I got in, was doing fairly good too... Then I made a small mistake of not fighting off 6 skulks with my super duper alien squishing HUD option(which doesn't exist), and the entire marine team starts complaining that they got wiped out by 5 or 6 skulks. I neglected to set down the resource tower, even though we had over 150 resources, though I was coming back to get it. This lead to MORE COMPLAINING. I tried to get them to rush the hive, but they were too worried about the skulks, and it eventually led to me being talked about over voice comm, about how incompetent I was. I explained that I took over the chair because no one else did when the comm left, and they said it "wasn't a good excuse" and I just left.

I'm sick and tired of filling the boots and then getting yelled at when I can't make any good of a bad situation.

Well, I used to go commander all the time but there's problems with it, namely, you aren't in the field. Most of the people that are "good" at commander are probably good FPS players which means they can aim.

I find that what marines really need is a competant commander in the chair and a really good battlefield general to keep the troops together and following him (they ignore waypoints or get lost) . . . and oh yeah TO SHOOT THE FREAKIN ALIENS.

Sorry, but I seem to be playing a lot of games where one or two skulks rapes my entire team whenever I'm commanding.

Yea people keep hopping into the chair, popping things down at start, then hop out and tell me to comm because they want to shoot stuff.

When faced with a bad commander early on, I am sometimes FORCED to rambo. I nearly always go off alone, as I just cannot trust the rest of my team-mates with my life. If we have a badd comm, I have to hit their gorges to put them in the same situation as us.
