Misadventures with the Exosuit (Possible Spoilers)

This is a big post, but it's really just me wanting to say three funny things that happened to me in the exosuit, but then typing up a ton of what happened in between those moments to make it more interesting to read.

TL/DR in order:
1 - Exosuit fell through the ground while in the mountains.
2 - I took the exosuit down the Quarintine Platform's elevator (twice) and lost it both times.
3 - Sea Dragon smacked my exosuit so hard it went through the ground and landed in the Lava Chamber nearby the Facility (After wandering the castle area for ten minutes trying to find the entrance to the lava zone's depths)

The crossed out parts are me jokingly referring to the Lava Lizards as 'uroktor' - which are volcano-dwelling lizards in Monster Hunter (Which are the juvenile form of Agnaktor)

So today's been an... Interesting day in the ocean for me and my exosuit - the "Agnaktor". I had my plans, and they seemed quite simple enough. I had almost three days of playtime on this one save file, and was at a point where I figured I could just stroll from location to location picking up achievements, since the bulk of them are just "Visit story-relevant location" achievements and not say 100% Your PDA Encyclopedea sort of achievements, which means leviathan-scanning and tracking down caches or stray logs.

So we set off on our adventure, not knowing that the ocean had very different plans in store for us.

Our first destination was the Inactive Lava Zone to pick up some Kyanite for upgrades. I have to say the zone's not all that inactive anymore, but is teeming with life. Life that does not like my Agnaktor very much. We traveled down the Lost River Corridor (RIP the old ILZ tunnels btw ;v; ) to the opening and jumped in. We were promptly greeted by a warper who insisted on keeping me out of my suit. After being warped out a few times I managed to elude the warper and made it into the chamber proper.

I found a nice little stash of kyanite and began drilling, which upset the local Uroktor Lava Lizards that then took on their best Boneshark impressions by passionately nibbling on my suit and overall not leaving me alone. Between batting larvae off of my suit, trying to swat the lava lizard away, repairing my suit after the lizard attacks, and actually drilling the kyanite I was pretty busy. Then the sea dragon came over to see what all the commotion was about.

Despite how afraid I was, the dragon was actually here to help. He shooed the warper and lava lizardss away, and left me to my drilling. That did not however keep me from ducking immediately into the nearby crevice to avoid getting caught up in anything. When I popped back up I grabbed the rest of the kyanite and headed to the Thermal Plant.

Unfortunately, once inside I realized I did not have any Purple Artifacts with me, so I couldn't get in to the chamber itself nor loot that pretty blue artifact key. The only one I had with me was over at my base.

We powered up the nearby teleporter and jumped in. After making our way out of the quarintine platform I began traveling down the mountainside, jetpacking along to speed the trip up... Only to speed through some terrain and to the black depths of the abyss. Woops. Not sure how that happened but reloading the game (and having to play Dodge the Reaper again) I made it across that spot without any shenanigans occurring.

After making it back to base I made a shocking discovery: I left my purple artifact onboard the Cyclops, not in my base. I had to walk my Exosuit back down the Lost River Corridor and back into the pit I left my cyclops in. Unfortunately the Warper I was harassing earlier stopped me again, and after getting warped out I made a grave error. Instead of jumping back into my suit and giving it the Drill Arm, I thought I'd go up and thermoblade it to make it go away. While having low health. You can already see where this is going so I'll just jump to the next part.

After being 'escorted' back to my base at the mouth of the Mountains Corridor and leaving both my Cyclops and Exosuit a fair distance away, I stocked up on a few basic supplies and crafted a Medkit Fabricator in my base and took some resources to make another on my cyclops - just in case I got caught in a position like this again. Suddenly, I was thankful I had carried those Fiber Meshes with me all that time ago when building this base.

Knowing my seaglide wouldn't be able to carry me all the way to Agnaktor, I got in my Seamoth (Which I named R. Ludroth) and sped down into the corridor. I parked it just out of sight of the leviathan patrolling above the giant pit leading to the ILZ, and dove down with my seaglide and into my exosuit. I was "mildly" concerned (Actually pretty spooked) when the leviathan growled at me on the way down but thankfully did not follow. Guess it preferred cold water to boiling water. Speaking of which, that boiling water kinda hurt.

We traveled into the Thermal Plant, fighting off pesky Uroktor Lava Lizards inside the Castle who insisted on nibbling on my exosuit while I was there. I secured the Blue Artifact and the recipes for super batteries and headed towards the deepest depths of the Lava Zone. Or I would have, if I had more than one Purple Artifact. After getting the blueprints for super batteries I had to go back through the teleporter and scour the Mountain Island for the purple artifact there, scan it, then head back to my base and craft one (Actually two just in case).

It was all very uneventful. At least until I reached the platform itself. Last time I was here, the warper outside the moonpool kept warping me out of my suit repeatedly while I was trying to get inside. So this time I figured I'd go in from the surface. Before I entered the elevator though I had the presence of mind to save my game, in case something went wrong. Something did go wrong. Once I walked my suit into the lift, it plummeted down fast enough to crash through the floor and onto the seafloor below. Woops. Reloading I decided to jump out of the suit halfway down. My suit fell for a bit then got stuck in the lift out of reach. Reloading once more, I decided to just deal with the warper and go the moonpool route. Thankfully he was not there.

Finally I got the blue artifact and warped back to craft the final depth upgrade for the exosuit, as well as another Blue Artifact. Now I had to get into the facility in the Lava Zone... I found my way there easily enough, and thankfully the dragons in the chamber didn't go after me – what luck! We spoke with the Sea Emperor and got the recipe for the Enzymes. I was very glad to have secured the Sea Crown much earlier in my game. The only thing I didn't have was that one plant from the Scarce Reef. Skipping through the uneventful (and boring) trip to and from the reef, I got the seeds, crafted the enzymes, and headed back into the Facility.

Only there's one problem. I kinda lost my way and ended up wandering around for about ten minutes trying to find the opening. Then fireballs began raining down on me, the Sea Dragon was attacking!

Or so I thought. Actually it was here to help, just like before. Somehow the Sea Dragon was able to know how much I loved him, so instead of trying to eat my exosuit, it bapped me with its fins enough to send me through the terrain and into the lava chamber I was so desperately trying to find earlier – even landing me within sight of the facility! How very helpful. Or maybe that was just a very lucky coincidence.

It was quite an adventure, but all that remains for me to do now in this save file is wait for the last few achievments to be unlocked. ^^
Well, that and finish my PDA Encyclopedia, which I'll probably work on in the meantime
