Hello divers
I have been thinking about transportation on Subnautica a lot, about the cyclops been attacked by creatures and how slow it is, so i came with an question, on a word of water why dont we have boats… I know “Subnautica was meant to be played under water” but to bee realistic a lot of times when i was changing from base to base or going from my main base there were problems like the dislocation being slow, cyclops crashing on terrain, creatures attacking cyclops and the cyclops have limited power some times i had to worry about being stuck somewhere, and to evict most of those problems i kept the cyclops in sea level.

So now going to the points:

- What if in the beginning of the game, along with the Seamoth we coudnt build a simple boat? it could be:
  • Faster than the Seamoth;
  • As any vehicle have modifications that allow us to scan under water or have camera drones, and along with an build in storage make it upgradable;
  • Allow us to build an fish rod and go fishing.

- And early along with the cyclops have an bigger one. One so bigger that would attach the cyclops to locomotion:
Not like the cyclops attach the PRAW but like an carcass just the size of the cyplos that would be around it and allow the player to go from the inside the cabin of the cyclops to an small inner part of the ship, maybe a little smaller than the cyclops cabin, and from that little room, go to the deck of the ship where would be the ships controls. the ship could:
  • The deck along with the small room on the inner ship could be customisable just like the inner sides of the cyclops;
  • Would be a modification panel and constructor, where we would build modifications like: Charging the cyclops, solar charging, sonar room on the inner parts along with camera drones;
  • Have a docking bay for one vehicle (PRAW, Seamoth or small boat).

Those are my ideas. What do you divers think?

    I think you'll have to wait for the 1st expansion, at minimum, to see this implemented. As the devs have stated, the game is pretty much done and now it's all about bug-fixing/optimization until the 1.0 release date.

    Why don't you just use the seamoth along the surface of the water? What's the point? There's not really much to see, or do. The seamoth can go on the surface if you so desire. Also, the cyclops is already big enough. It's a pain to take through the safe shallows already, we don't need that extended to the kelp forest or crash zone.
