The problem with melons.

For the last couple of updates the hit box for melons seems to have been made smaller. This causes issues whilst trying to harvest melon seeds meaning you have to slice a dozen times in random directions until you hit the sweet spot. Even with the elevation of the farming tray or plant pots it can be an exercise in patience to manage to harvest seeds. (replanting melons to get large melons doesn't seem to help either)

The knife has a bug with them where it strikes just above the hotbar instead of where you're pointing, so try that.

This should probably be fixed in the next patch, along with some other hitbox-based bugs. (fuck you windows and reinforcements and plant walls)

I don't think it's only the knife that is bugged. The builder tool has the same problem with placing windows. You have to aim to the side of where you wanna place it. Maybe it's related?

Pick up a few melons, take them outside and drop them, it gives them a larger hit box. If you have the stasis rifle it makes it alot easier as they roll away kinda quickly once dropped on the ground. Create a stasis field, drop melons inside the field, then harvest away. Still a bit of a pain, but easier than finding the tiny hitbox. I usually harvest several at once and store the seeds for later.
