For the last three or so data boxes, I have received no message displayed telling me what I unlocked. Instead, I have to hunt through my PDA to see which one is there that I don't remember seeing before.

Has the PDA also stopped highlighting new blueprints, or does it just disappear too quickly? Until fixed, you'll just have to check what the box is before opening.

Huh? How do you check what the box is before opening? Is there some way to move your mouse over the box without opening it? Thanks!

When you open it and it says nothing, open the PDA. Find whatever has the orange "!" in the blueprints menu. That means its a new recipe. If you didn't get that, then you already had it.

I've found this can happen with any blueprint, not just data boxes. Like when I scan the last piece of the laser cutter, for example, sometimes I don't get a message saying that the blueprint was acquired.
I found some data boxes that when opened there was no Blueprints added or comments added. I also noticed that even when you acquired some blueprints such as the Reinforced Dive Suit, it didn't give me the blueprint for Synthetic Fibers that it was supposed to provide. So i was left unable to build the blueprint.

(Synthetic Fibers comes from other stuff I believe.)
Okay, so if it isnt adding any new ones, they're duplicates.
On the latest version, they made it so all dupes will be opened at the same time, but yea.
I'm seeing this problem most frequently on all the Cyclops upgrades. So, I'm guessing they just never completed the configuration of the Cyclops blueprints.

As @AnomalyDetected mentioned, some of these data boxes are duplicates, so if you already got that one, the duplicate box will be open and won't show a tooltip.
The blueprint for Synthetic Fibers is discovered separately. You have to find the ingredient to get the blueprint, like deep shrooms for hydrochloric acid. I forget which one gives it, but poke around and you'll find it.
@garath I used to have problems with the Cyclops blueprints all the time, but lately they've been really consistent. If I had to guess, I'd say that there's some randomization when it comes to world generation for each game. Maybe some setting doesn't get configured correctly, but which one depends on how the world was generated. That's why this problem shows up differently for different people. Again, I'm just guessing, but does that make sense?

Getting close to the box should give a tooltip that identifies it, just like when you get close to a resource("pick up Quartz").
Edit: @PeterHalycon : I would guess you need to pick up a blood oil. The PDA seems to have scanned only a small area for useable resources, and doesn't know what usable materials might be found elsewhere on the planet.
