What are your guys thoughts on having currents in the game they could have increased concentrations of fish and be used for transport/possibly power plus since there used to be a current generator in the game it would be too difficult to program as far as I know.
@Tac429
I believe currents would easy enough to implement in a nearly realistic way. However the interaction of said currents with game objects are far more complicated. I can't imagine the impact on performance.
That said, current generators require very strong currents to be effective. Also on the green energy topic, wave generators and wind generators should be very feasible near the surface. However I don't believe they can implement this before 1.0, unless devs are willing to delay some more.
@Quiet_Blowfish
That's a very nice suggestion. I like the idea of being forced out of a situation without the need of anyone telling you to "collect five cod fins and deliver it to mister octopus".
However such a strong permanent whirlpool is, realistically, unlikely. This could be easily circumvented by adding a precursor element tough. Maybe a huge machine could be sucking water to cool something off.
Same as above, certainly won't be implemented before 1.0. Yet it would make for an awesome patch.

I agree they would have been cool if finished and done properly.
When you get too close - it sucks your Seamoth down into a cavern complex.
Since you can't go back up the same way, exploration and escape become a default mini-quest.
