this stupid idea just came to me: fins, but in the gloves slot! the hand fins would increase your speed just like the fins and even when holding a tool,. the model would be something like webbed fingers or something like that.. this is such a stupid idea...

    I don't think it's a stupid idea. There's nothing else using the glove slot except for the radiation gloves, which are only useful for fixing the radiation leaks. After that, there's nothing useful to put in the glove slot. Having some kind of hand fin for the otherwise useless slot that improves underwater speed/maneuverability would actually be very useful.

    You're correct, it's been awhile since I played a serious survival game and I forgot that the reinforced divesuit now comes with gloves.

    Do the reinforced gloves actually do anything though? Considering that the reinforced dive suit doesn't require any headgear to provide the bonus, I don't see how gloves will make much difference when your head is fully exposed.

    Maybe the gloves can be used to pick up more dangerous but smaller creatures like the bitter?

    It actually is a good idea, having an glove fins for a little increase of velocity under water while you aren't holding any tool would help, and adding some features like holding more dangerous fish as suggested by peeko would be nice.

    Also it could not be just an craft-able item, it could also be an option on the modification station for the reinforced gloves.

    Also (2) the ability to hold more dangerous fish or objects could be added to the reinforced gloves

    I think there's a reason why divers don't have hand fins. But hey, divers also have their arms next to their body or folded on their chest, reducing drag by keeping your gear and arms in the wake of your body, this actually reduces the leg power required and as a result will increase your speed. Keep in mind, our legs are MUCH more powerful than our arms.


    But here we have Subnautica, which does everything divers tend to avoid :tongue: For visual first person reasons of course!

    So sure, you can have your "hand fins" :trollface:
