1500+ depth in the Seamoth, intended or bug? [SPOILERS]

END OF CURRENTLY IMPLEMENTED STORY - Once you activate the warp gate out of the Sea Emperor's pool (the one leading up to the cannon), you can then pilot your Sea Moth through from the other side into the pool, sitting at 1500+ meters depth with no damage. If you try to surface in the moon pool, you take damage, but as long as you stay down, you're fine. Is this a glitch or intended as part of the maintained environment in the pool?

I personally thought it was intended (haven't tried to surface; that sounds like a glitch), because while you are at +1500m, the pressure in the pool is only ~200m.

It's not a glitch I remember seeing it in the check ins depth damage is disabled inside functional precursor bases
