ns2_combat is a map created using 2 maps from NS2 Combat by Faultline (co_core and co_nest) along with some additional rooms and geometry changes.

The map is quite large

    Huh, interesting idea. co_nest itself is quite large already. Wonder how this will play out.

    Um, did you get permission from FLG/UWE? I'd be careful. You could get a copyright strike against you if they find out/care about this.

    normally i wouldnt have done this, but the maps use entirely UWE assets and there hasnt been a server running for ns2 combat in months. game is completely dead and the devs have abandoned it. Shame for the maps to go to waste.

    That really has nothing to do with it. It's more to do with copyright laws. The least you should do is ask the original map creators.

    Also IBIS is running a combat server

    I am pretty sure they are fine with it, since they didn't create the maps themselves. (Afaik all the maps were done by external people and they just bought the rights.)

    Furthermore I am sure that if they had an issue with it, they would ask you to take it down before taking you to court right away...

    Of course this is purely my personal assessment and does not in any way, shape or form reflect official FLG stances yadda yadda... but frankly FLG doesn't really exist anymore and hasn't for quite a while.

    I do recommend you send one of them a message and ask. Chris (4horsemen) is probably the easiest one to reach.

    if they ask me to remove the maps i will naturally do so.

    Who cares about permission these days`?
    Have you seen all the variations of offical maps and blatant ripoffs?

    I do know that the FLG guys don't want any of their work to be used for official ns2. There's some bad blood between them and UWE.

    However, they did allow use of the HMG in a mod iirc, so I think as long as UWE is not involved it's fine.

    I highly doubt UWE would have an issue with people using Official maps from UWE and modifying them. More maps better for the game.

    We have no problem with people reusing official NS2 maps... EDIT: as long as it's in NS2... (edited before some smart-ass goes and puts the maps in UE4 or something... ;) )
