Can't join servers.

This has been happening for a few days now.
First attempt (in a given day it seems) causes a crash and error reporter popup (attempting to submit it just hangs the error reporter)
Second attempt just locks up
Third attempt shows the "You game files don't match the servers".
I tried tgns (my main) and other random servers on the list.
When it locks up or errors out, it just after moving from the map specific load screen to the generic ns2 one, usually indicating the connection was rejected for some reason and i'm being taken back to main lobby.
I tried checking game files in steam, as well as uninstall and reinstall. After posting this i'll try manually deleting everything and disabling steam cloud.

This seems to have fixed the issue. I renamed steam/userdata/userid/4620 to 4620.bad and appdata/roaming/Natural Selection 2 to Natural Selection 2.bad and everything seems to be working again.
