An idea to *sort of* resolve the perspective issue

Remember this? Notice that the best way to really compare the actual size of things to a human is to spawn in the sizeref dude. Well I've had an idea to adapt this so that using the sizeref dude is no longer needed to be used with the console commands.

What if you could build a little disc like thingy that projects a life-size hologram of a human, and you use that as a size reference?

That would break the gameplay less than spawning in a realistic-looking human to do size reference, I think it'd be not useful, but interesting to have a hologram-projector in stable. What do you think?

I'd say it's a pretty elegant solution to the problem of wanting something in the foreground to give it some scale. (Bonus points if you get the movie reference!)

I don't think it'd get much use outside of Creative mode - unless creatures could be scripted to attack the holo, giving it a decoy job - but for a size referent, I think it's much nicer than the spawn-in version. :)

Ooh, that's actually a really nice idea! I like the sound of decoys!
