Two Way Voice System

I don't know whether anybody has ever used this before but I am in the middle of a home renovation and I was thinking about getting a two-way voice system. I thought about getting it after I read some of their benefits from a blog ( http://www.sleepwellsecurity.ca/blog/home-security/benefits-of-two-way-voice-systems/ ). I think it would be much safer since I have a 2-year-old at home. If anybody could share your thoughts on this it would be great.
