I have had some good suggestions already, but I wanted to put this in here so to get your opinions. I have thought about spreading it across the underwater islands, putting it along the grassy plateu, or floating it over the koosh zone...

My suggestion would be the deep grand reef

• You could use a uranium or biological reactor for energy
• The floater island can be accessed using a air bladder
• The sea trader path is nearby for poopy fuel
• It's above the crush depth of the maximum sea moth upgrade.
• Only one type of predator in the area
• Nice views
• It's far away from reaper leviathans.

Jellyshroom caves are quite cool to build a base in; you could create a Sea Dragon cage down there as well in the large opening beneath the plateau
