I can't put them in the plantery so I just dropped them...
[I was supposed to have an image here but my wifi sucks. Basically I can't put my eggs into the plantery inside an alien contaiment. Is it correct that I just dropped the eggs into the tank?]
Since there's some small chance you want to figure this out by waiting, and since I don't want to spoil it for others, I'll put the answer in this spoiler tag here.

Yes, that's the correct way
Thanks! Appreciate it. But whats the planter for then?

Planter is for plant seeds.
Ohhhh that's where those seeds go. Thanks!
Plant Creepvine Seed Clusters and Blood Oil instead of Creepvine Samples and Bloodvine Samples if you want to harvest Creepvine Seed Clusters and Blood Oil.
Planting Creepvine Seed Clusters and Blood Oil produces these plants:

The amount of bioluminescence in this game certainly proves that we need the ability to turn the lights off in specific rooms.

Nice, thanks for the tips. I don't see any reason for planting blood oil though, I heard all it's for is for the reinforced suit.

Correct, I only planted blood oil because I liked the plant.
Be careful if you decide to harvest acid mushroom seeds.
Cutting mushrooms damages neighbors, so the second cut will cause all to explode. To avoid this, pick whole mushrooms first, then drop only one or two, knife them, repeat.

The Dive suit needs 6 Blood Oil and 4 Creepvine Samples and that is the only current use of Blood Oil, but it is mostly for choice in decoration which is what my second part of my previous post was showing. There is also the possibility that the devs might change some recipes or add more recipes to make certain resources more usable like Blood Oil and Uranite Crystals. There is no reason to plant Creepvine Samples since Creepvine Seed Clusters are far too useful to plant at the main base, but there is the choice between planting Blood Oil, planting Bloodvine Samples, and not planting them at all depending on decoration aesthetics.
For example, I might create an Alien Containment with Bloodvine, Gabe's Feather, Ghost Weed, Ampeel, and Spinefish for the Blood Kelp Zone Alien Containment and Creepvine, Pygmy Fan, Eye Stalk, Eyeye, Hoopfish, Hoverfish, Rabbit Ray, and Stalker for the Kelp Forest Alien Containment. In other words, making a base that is essentially a zoo filled with a bunch of flora and fauna from each biome. So the choice between which Bloodvine and Creepvine is produced can be extremely important in this setting.

Nice. Seems like a cool idea! Though I've never visited the blood kelp zone, I'd like to avoid ampeels.

Yes, acid mushrooms and deep mushrooms (white ones) explode and do damage to you. DO NOT CUT ONE UP NEAR OTHER MUSHROOMS, it hurts and is liable to kill you.

I didn't even know you could cut bloodvines. I've only been growing them from the oil for months.
Either it was late at night, outdated information, a hallucination, or some other reason, but they can't be cut and there is only one version of Bloodvine available. Just checked on Experimental and every single Bloodvine is the same. I thought I saw two versions of Bloodvine available months ago and saw a sample of Blood Vine in someone's inventory, but either it was cut from the game or never existed. Will edit my previous post to make it accurate.
There are several version of Bloodvine in the game, but they are all the same plant just at different stages of development.
And only the fully mature plant will give the oil.
There seems to be only just 2 versions of Bloodvine, the 3 to 6 meter seedling variety without Blood Oil and the 40 to 70 meter fully mature variety with Blood Oil and a mouth at the top of the vine.
Also, you need to stack MFR and Alien Containment modules to get a tank large enough to grow vines in. Looks cool though. Also, boosts the number of fish you can have in the tank.
Easier to grow kelp and bloodvine outside in a planter.

I currently have double tanks with creepvine seed clusters. I also found a boneshark egg in the grassy plateaus so he's in my tank now.
