Someone disagreed with me before, but its true.
Aliens are flexibble, marines are not.

One important tip for Gorges: If you know you're going to be a Gorge, at the beginning of the game as soon as you get 13 RPs, evolve into a Gorge. Don't stay as a Skulk and rush the Marine base at the start or anything. From my understanding, Gorges gain resources 30% faster than other Aliens.

I prefer to evolve before reaching the first node site, which allows me to build resources at the Gorge rate (3X) while walking there. Most 1st nodes are safe, but there are exceptions of course.

Thanks
I like to wait because lately one or two marines have been rushing out to sweep nodes and hives for gorges while the rest fend of rushes. Since it takes a minute or so to get the rest of the points to evolve to gorge I run to the first node I want to take, find a vent, rafter, or dark corner to evolve and wait for enough points to build the resource chamber. By the time I build up the 22 points the sweeping marines have had enough time to make it through everyplace or run into a skulk and get killed. Doing it this way saved my life twice just this mornin....though I got caught out in the open going to the second node
