here I go again....
K you know the prison in alien3? Well someone could make a map based on that idea.
Another idea would be a remake of old system shock2 levels, but I dunno maybe thats illegal. Liked the system shock2 style though. I know very clean, but look at hera and eclipse, also very clean, for the most part.

Ok i see this response alot and i just cannot see why people take the effort to say this.
The person abvioulsy think they have what would be a great idea for a map that they would like to see made. Its VERY likly that if they could do it themselves they would, but guess what MAPPING IS NOT EASY. Ive been learning now for two months and getting out a room that looks half way decent is a pain in the butt.
So rather then say the above why not either AGREE or DISAGREE... or if you a mapper take up the cause. Saying DO IT YOURSELF helps no one.
And I think ctx should jump in a huge tank of boiling lard. Or tar. Either one. Even scalding liquid beef-byproduct will do. I'm not picky.
The only lameness I've seen so far today, ctx, is YOU. So go away.
On an unrelated note, what's with "lets remake this" or "lets duplicate this"?? I don't mind a map being INSPIRED by, or trying to capture the feel of, a certain movie / game / map, but nobody should think about REMAKING or DUPLICATING. Every mapping FAQ and every good mapper says the same thing. Inspiration good, copying bad.
Wasn't NS itself inspired by Aliens? Isn't 'inspire' to 'remake', and not to 'copying'?
And, erm, DjArcas, I don't think having something 'inspired by' something is 'remaking' it... if that's what you're saying ? For example, 'SpaceBalls' was inspired by 'Star Wars', and it ain't a remake. What I was trying to say was, people keep asking for carbon-copies of certain things in a map, and it just ain't right. Sure, capturing the essence of something is ok, but I happen to like originality and artisticness.
Ah, now I get what you're saying. The way you say 'remake', its different I think ... I mean, did you throw in your personal touch to the Doom level? Did you try to make it bigger and better? Or was it basically copy-and-paste?
I'm pretty sure it isn't a carbon-copy, but a work of art
(and thus, 'inspired by' and not a 'remake')
