Similarities between Degasi and Precursors

The Degasi survivors and the Precursors are actually extremely similar, and we can draw some pretty interesting comparisons between them. It also might tell us how we were able to survive the Carar when 3 people, including a scientist, and a whole SPECIES couldn't.

Firstly, each of them built 3 bases: one on an island, one deep in a cave system and one built solely to fight Carar (for the Degasi crew this was their DGR base).
This is the main similarity, and the one I find most interesting: Their reactions to the Carar bacterium are almost identical to each other. Each of them begins rounding up different types of creatures, testing to see if any of them were immune to the bacterium, until they captured a creature too powerful to be controlled (they were both Sea Dragons) and their research facilities were destroyed. When it came to the Precursors this was almost unavoidable, since there was no cure at hand at the time, but the Degasi survivors could have found the Emperor and survived like we did, couldn't they?

This could tell us one of two things: we survived either because we were alone, and we were able to think for ourselves without several viewpoints clashing and resulting in failure, or it tells us that rather than forcing a solution you need to go looking for one. The Degasi crew failed because they didn't explore. We succeeded because of exploration, and initiative. We did not try to control nature, we let ourselves become embraced by it, and perhaps that's why we were able to survive and escape.

I don't know, I found this interesting as a few comparisons between the Degasi, the Precursors and even us as a player, or a character :)
