the temperature of the surrounding water/air should make your hunger/thirst meter decrease faster, or make items restore less hunger/thirst.
I.e. in the Lava Zone, your thirst would decrease 20% faster due to the temperature and you sweating your balls off inside your dive suit; While in the frigid Lost River, your hunger meter would decrease 20% faster due to it being cold as balls.
To Counter this in Seabases and the Cyclops, a small AC unit could be built into the wall to slowly regulate heat within the Base/Sub, making it a comfy 22*C throughout your base.
One thing I never really liked was if you built a base close to a lave vent, one side of a room could be 4*C and the other side could be 50*C.
The AC unit would fix this, setting the temp inside the base to a flat 72*F, as well as prevent the hunger/thirst debuffs from extreme temperatures.

but have it optional in standard survival.
