Game freezes and then crashes

Im in the kelp forest on the edge of the grand reef looking for silver when the game suddenly freezes, as if my FPS drops to 0 while the surrounding area loads in. Then Crashes to desktop. This happens every time I load up my game (I saved the game seconds before this crash happened).

Deleting the folders CellCache and CompiledOctreesCache (https://steamcommunity.com/app/264710/discussions/0/215439774865517173/) seems to have fixed the issue for now. Leaving the files up for the devs anyway.

Hmm, I am getting essentially the same crash. I'll give this a bash and see if it helps. Thanks for the info.

EDIT: Yes that worked to some extent. I got my game running again but it is still a little glitchy. At least I can get back to my sea base and the terrain can load without glitching.

I was looking at the different camera views on the cyclops and when I got close to the kelp forest it froze, crashed.
