Deploying Prawn too close to ground launches Cyclops into low orbit?

I've noticed if you're too close to the ocean floor when entering your Prawn from inside the cyclops as soon as you exit the collision will propel the Cyclops a couple hundred meters upwards from you. However, if you are in shallow water it will instead launch the Cyclops 1000m or more into the air, where it either gets stuck, or comes crashing back down a minute or so later.

It's interesting, just last night I was playing a new game on the October update, and found the Abandoned PDA on the path of the Floater Island was clipped into the ground, which made it unclickable. I tried using the F1 console (to get coordinates) and the WARP command to try and spawn 'beneath' the ground and try to get it. It didn't work, but every attempt I tried before finally clipping through the mountain entirely would just throw my character 10 meters up into the air. I wonder if maybe it's how the physics are designed to cope with unpredictable collision with the ground?
