Hey! It's me again! There are some alternative endings and one of them could be that, if the rocket will be added and the precursor gun will NOT be deactivated, the rocket will be shot down with you inside. Write down below what you think about it.
I think it only makes sense. Why should you be able to escape if the whole point of the precursor gun is to contain the planet? Of course, if the player overlooks that, then just...wow.
That's not an ending, that's a failure scenario. It's like getting eaten by a Reaper and calling it the end of the game.
It still gives the player the freedom to screw up, and might be a fun easter egg. I can't imagine a player actually messing this up on accident, but its there, and it just adds to the game. Not, like, a lot...but people other than you may apprecheatie it

Well, it would certainly be a way to commit suicide, like drowning, or getting eaten, or starving. But it's not a legit game ending. It's a way to fail.
And the game should probably save itself before you hit the "launch" button with the gun active, so you can reload after the game rolls its eyes, sighs, and kills you.
Wait, haven't there been a few great games that end with the main character dying? Although I agree that launching without turning off the gun is more Darwin Award than Game Ending, dying at the end is a legit way to stop the game.
Bioshock Infinite anyone? (I just put that as a spoiler in case any of you haven't played bioshock- and yes, even though it is an old game I'm sure that there are some people who haven't played it)

"Ah, finally, everything's saved, the planet will endure, and I can get home safe. Everything's going to be fine."
*Loud charging sound*
"I get the feeling I'm forgetting something-"
*FWE-KOOOOOOOOOM!*
I don't love the idea either, but for god's sake man, phrase things better. I respect the blunt honesty, but you didn't have to get disrespectful.
