What texture is this

I was just looking over the lost revenue precursor base and I found there weird too textures if never seen before if someone can please elaborate on what that is that would be great

My money is on a whole new texture set for the world being developed and tested in obscure parts of the engine. UWE like to spring surprises on the EA players with things they weren't expecting, they kept the rich infestation in NS2 back until launch, and I expect them to do something similar here.

Of course, we may see updated textures before release, who knows, but personally I'd be surprised if UWE kept with the current texture set, as it's been around a long time.

Press F12 while ingame to take screenshots - the pictures will be clearer.

If your using X-box (I only use the controller) than its either the Left Joy Stick or the Right one to take screenshots.

Actually.. Both kind of look like a similar texture that is found 'painted' underneath coral in the safe shallows. Particularly the purple one. Perhaps those textures are just defaults for untextured or unfinished areas or the developers gave them that texture as a placeholder.

Btw I found they were used for safe shallows for some of the fungi growing there strange that is was used here
