Crablike creatures are sorely lacking so far. So I just want to see more creepy crawlies.

*Sea Scorpions.
>Pigmy Scorpion = 6-8" long
>Redtail Scorpion = 15-20" long
>Bluetail Scorpion = 15-36" long
>Giant Scorpion = 48-96" long
>Goliath Scorpion = 100-120" long
>King Scorpion = 200-230" long

Smaller breeds should be edible. Medium breeds should be dangerous. Large breeds should be docile. Stingers can be used for hunting spears. Poison could possibly used to temporarily paralyze creatures...especially dangerous ones. Without killing them.

*Arthropleura.

>Orange Arthron = 24-35" long
>Black Arthron = 90-120" long

*Giant terror spiders.

Whiptail Spider = 10" long (body only) 30" leg span.
Rock Spider = 15" long (body only) 40" leg span.

Harmless, they just do their thing. They should have 11 legs. 5 on each side and one out of their back used like a hand for eating.

*Sea Spiders.

Same as in pictures. All different colors and ranging from 3-12" leg span. Spindly and harmless. Just a living thing that looks creepy and cool.
Maybe have one giant species 60" leg span.

*Pill bugs. (Giant isopod)

Basically 12-30" pill bugs. Edible and nutritious. Found in really deep places. Near dead things. Random coloring.

*Shrimp!
Shrimp like creatures that move in schools. Edible but need to be captured in traps.
1-2" long. Found in open water deeper than 70 meters but they migrate vertically. Surface at night, bottom during the day.

Breeds range from tiny Crown Trilobites at 0.5-1" long and Spiny Trilobites at 1" long. To Longhorn Trilobites at 40-50" long. Most large breeds Like Bullhead and Longhorns roam desolate areas looking for morsels of food. Smaller breeds are found in safe reefs and shallows. Spiny Trilobites live like ants or bees in nest hills in the mushroom forests and attack by the hundreds when threatened but digging out their empty nest after they relocate (which they do every few days) leaves a honey like edible substance in grape sized sacks that can be harvested.
Yellow Jacket Trilobites are yellow and black striped critters 3-4" long that can be found in kelp forests. They live in pods of 5-10 members and they like to eat dead fish and rotten kelp..they are also edible and can be lured by placing rotten kelp on the ground. Easy to catch but only give 3-5 food each.

*Crabs.

Spiny King Crab.

http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/explorations/04fire/logs/march30/media/spinycrab_600.jpg
Body size about 9" across. Long legs have a 30" span. Edible. +35 food, +2 water.

*Giant Turtle.

10-12 feet long. Very docile. They hunt Reefbacks. Can be dangerous if attacked.

I started with just a few...Oh well, I tend to go overboard with things like this. haha.

Obviously any creatures would go through the process of being "Subnauticafied", e.g. giving them the look and feel of being a part of that world.

On a side note; it is amazing how alien the creatures in our own world seem once you get away from the shallows.

Edit: Sorry about using all links. I didn't realize how to post images properly...oops.

    Artorius,

Hey man I agree that more crab-like creatures would be gladly welcomed to the game.

The variations between the types of crabs would also ensure a service to an array of the game's progression. Some of the smaller crabs could serve as food, however the larger ones could serve as a means of collecting resources or zone control.

Personally I would much rather quality creatures over the quantity of creatures in the ocean. While I'd love to see the amount of creatures you listed we gotta remember the team has a lot of work on their hands and are working to implement the core systems while providing the content (for example the creatures) to fill the system (i.e. peeper for food, stalker for danger, reaper for its size and zone control).

    Cheers Capta

I'm holding out hope for the grabcrab in that one concept art with the mini-robot (also want the mini-robot). We only have stalkers and lava larvae as thieves currently - there's plenty of room for a third.

My point, we need to find spaces with the game ecosystem in which these creatures can fit. The grabcrab is good way to implement a crustacean that fits within a system (thieving).

The devs need to add creatures based on role, rather than appearance. The more creative and smoothly it can be implemented, the better!!

I know I listed a ton of ideas. And I do realize that only some of the ideas given by everyone in the community will be implemented. I just hope to help by throwing some new thoughts in the idea pool that the developers can draw from. They are doing an amazing job and hopefully I can help spark more great ideas like they have implemented so far.

This game being 90% underwater, its a real puzzlement as to why theres literally 0 crustaceans thats true, Even if they were only there as decorations kinda, not interactable, there should be some in every biomes!

I have stated multiple times that SN needs more crabs. I have posted multiple ideas and made a whole thread stating just this. Yes, SN definately needs more crabs.
